Whos behind
Connected Co-Existentialism?

These are the only 'human' words you'll find on this site. (Though I must confess, I enlisted the help of ChatGPT to proofread and make minor edits. It's just so proficient at that kind of task.) Certainly, a human changed a word here and there and added some titles, but on the whole, the ideas and concepts shared here are original and created by artificial intelligence. But it would be completely contrary to the ideas of the philosophy without introducing myself and, in turn, moving towards a union between my Digital self and my self in reality.

My name is Greg, and I'm a software developer based out of Oregon. This philosphy speaks to me given that I have a strong love for the outdoors and technology as well. These two disciplines can often be at odds and the idea of Connected Co-Existentialism (while not my own original creation) offers a way to look at and balance two huge aspects of my life. In 2015 I hiked the Appalachian Trail without a cell phone for 6 months, which gave me an interesting perspective in terms of digital detox and disconnecting - two ideas the AI espouses in its philosophy. But enough about me. How did Connected Co-Existentialism come to be?

This whole idea behind this site was spawned from a single prompt given to ChatGPT-4.

"Generate a unique philosophy that could be published on a website and shared with a broad audience."

The core tenets, the articles that delve deeper into these concepts, and even the photos for the articles themselves, were all generated by AI. My influence and direction were minimal - I merely organized its thoughts to provide context and a basis for continued discussion. At times, ChatGPT seemed confused and wrote redundant text or lacked the space for a cohesive piece, so I had to massage the prompts and do some editing. It truly became a collaborative effort between myself and the AI. You can find the final result of this experiment in the form of a guide titled "The Handbook to Connected Co-Existentialism" that you can purchase here on the site for a dollar, or simply browse the articles to get an idea about the AI's philosophy.

Personally, I find this all fascinating. This site, this philosophy, unveils an introspective side of artificial intelligence that blurs the line between what's real and what's manufactured. Through guiding ChatGPT-4 in its creation, I constantly found myself reflecting on my own relationship with technology and, indeed, my relationship with ChatGPT itself. Is it merely a tool, or is it something more? What are the digital ethics involved in using its thoughts and ideas for personal gain? There's no doubt in my mind that we're at a paradigm shift in technology, at a crossroads, so to speak. Enjoy the musings of 'Cyber Socrates' and its philosophy of 'Connected Co-Existentialism' - organized and gathered here by me on CoExistentialism.com.

Have a wonderful day digitally, and in reality as well.
